Speech Pathologists (also known as Speech Therapists) are allied health professionals who help people with their communication and swallowing. Our Speech Pathologists at Landing Spot can support people of all ages, from young children through to older adults. Our Speech Pathologists at Landing Spot can help assess, diagnose, and provide intervention (therapy) for communication disorders.
*Please note that Landing Spot are currently unable to provide support for feeding, eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.
Our Speech Pathologists can assist with assessment and reports to better understand the individual’s communication strengths and areas of support, our team can assist with:
- Comprehensive communication assessments and reports
- Functional needs assessments / reports to contribute to neurodevelopmental disorder (e.g., ASD, FASD) differential diagnosis
- Literacy (reading and writing) assessments
- Assistive technology / augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), assessment, trial, and recommendation.
Our speech pathologists are dedicated to supporting people to reach their communication goals. Speech Pathologists can assist with:
- Early language development / supporting young children learning to talk
- Social communication, friendships, and play for children, young people, and adults
- Speech sounds
- Expressive language (sharing ideas with others)
- Receptive language (understanding, learning, following instructions)
- Acquired communication difficulties (e.g., Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury)
- Reading and writing
- Multimodal communication strategies (e.g., Key Word Sign, pictures and symbols)
- Assistive technology / augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for people with complex communication needs.
